NEW PROGRAMS PLANNED TO OPEN AT ALANYA UNIVERSITY

At the meeting held at Alanya University Meeting Hall, Rector Prof.Dr. Mesut Güner gave information about the academic organization chart of the university and the newly opened departments. Rector Prof.Dr. Mesut Güner; “At the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, we plan to launch Business Administration (Turkish-English), Management Information Systems (Turkish) and Psychology departments, which will offer students a broad perspective. At the Faculty of Health Sciences, we aim to open Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation programs that will contribute to the healthy lifestyles of individuals. At the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, we plan to offer Interior Architecture, Software Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering and Architecture (Turkish) programs in accordance with the needs of our age. In our Vocational School, we aim to contribute to both the students and the Alanya district by opening new programs in many fields in line with the needs of the sector. "Our quota proposal in the departments to be opened will be limited to 40 students, and in this way, we aim to provide more individual attention and support to the students," he said.

Rector Prof.Dr. pointed out that a quality education is provided to its students with its experienced and expert teaching staff. Mesut Güner; He pointed out that the increasing student communities at the university contribute to the development of both the university and Alanya with social activities and important organizations. Stating that there are currently 12 student groups at the university. Prof. dr. Güner reminded that the occupancy rate in ÖSYM quotas has increased. Prof. Dr. also talked about the department and distribution of the number of foreign students at the university. Güner said that there was an 83 percent increase in the number of foreign students studying at the university in 2022. “Alanya University exhibited a strong presence in the international arena by participating in 5 international and 1 domestic fairs (in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Algeria, Azerbaijan and Istanbul) in the 2023 Spring semester. In the 2023-24 period, it increased global diversity and international student potential by recruiting a total of 83 foreign students from 16 different countries (mostly from Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran). In total, it hosted 146 foreign students from 26 different countries, making a significant contribution to cultural diversity and international student profile. "We consider this strong presence of Alanya University in the international arena as an important success in terms of cultural interaction and international cooperation as well as academic excellence," said Prof.Dr. Güner continued to convey the university's work with the following words: We attach great importance to the projects and activities to be carried out in university-industry cooperation. In this context, we signed the cooperation protocol with the Development Agency within the scope of the Cyber Homeland program. A cooperation protocol was signed with the Development Agency within the scope of Entrepreneurship Days. Our students prepared for the entrepreneurship competition and achieved success in these competitions. The entrepreneurial idea of "Healthy snack with Avogusto-Alanya avocado" came first.

The Academic Incentive Directive, accepted by the University Senate on 07.08.2023, covers scientific studies published since the beginning of 2023.
